Privacy policy

This policy covers digitalworksforge.com and messages you send about a website project. It is written in plain language. It is not a sale of your information.
What we collect
- What you send when you get started: your name, business name, email, phone, the package you pick, and whether you prefer text or email.
- What you add later in your dashboard: your business address, service area, hours, site copy, a logo, photos, videos, files, and notes.
- Your client account. When you send a request, we make a client account for that email, so you can add the details at your own pace. To sign in, we email you a link and a 6-digit code; there is no password unless you add one. The account keeps your name, business, phone, and email. You can ask us to delete it.
- Emails and texts you send about a project.
- Payment status from Stripe if you pay a deposit or a final invoice. Card numbers stay with Stripe. We do not store them.
- Basic site logs from the host: browser type, pages visited, and the time of the visit.
- When a page breaks, a short error report to our own server: the page, the error message and where in our code it happened. It carries no name, email, form contents or cookies, and is kept for a few days.
- On the quote form we use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam bots. It checks your browser, and Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that check.
- A count of page views. When a page is loaded, our own server adds 1 to a tally for that page, its language and the day. It sets no cookie and keeps no IP address, device details or anything that could identify you, so it counts views, not visitors. The tallies are deleted after 13 months.
We do not ask for a Social Security number, a government ID, health information, or precise location.
Why we use it
To answer the inquiry, send a proposal, do the work you hired us for, take payment, and keep a record of the agreement. We do not use your information to build an ad profile.
We email you about your request: the sign-in email, and at most two reminders if details are still open. Every reminder has a link that stops them. We do not send newsletters or ads.
Who else sees it
Only the tools needed to run the business: the site host, email, Stripe for payment, AI tools that help us build and update websites, and a signing tool if we use one. Those tools see only what they need to do that job. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context advertising.
AI tools
We use AI tools from outside providers to help write, design, and update your website. They see the project details that work needs, such as your business information, site text, and photos. We share only what the work needs, and we only use AI tools whose settings or terms keep your details from being used to train their models. We review everything an AI tool helps make before it is sent to you or goes live on your site.
How long we keep it
Inquiry notes that do not become a job: about 12 months. A request where nobody ever signed in with the emailed link or code: about 30 days, then deleted with its files. Signed agreements, invoices, and project files: as long as we need them for the job and for tax records, then deleted. You can ask us to delete an inquiry that did not become a job.
Your choices
We do not set optional cookies, so there is nothing to refuse, and you can block cookies in your browser; the site still works. You can ask what we have on you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete an inquiry. Email forge@digitalworksforge.com. We will reply.
Texas
Digital Works Forge is a small business. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act generally exempts small businesses under Small Business Administration size rules, except that a small business must get consent before selling sensitive data. We do not sell personal data, sensitive or otherwise. This page does not claim that the Act fully applies. The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act still applies, so this page says what we actually do.
Children
This site is for business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
