How a piece is made
1. Throw or warp
A bowl starts as a ball of clay on the wheel. A rug starts as a hundred threads on the loom.
2. Dry and fire
Pots dry for a week, then are fired twice. Rugs rest a day before they are cut.
3. Finish by hand
Glaze, trim and knot. Every piece is checked and signed.

I learned on a borrowed wheel.
I started with a night class and a borrowed wheel. Ten years on, I share a studio with a weaver and we sell what we make at markets and by inquiry.
